Do 2 or 3 of the following as time permits. The teacher does not have to do everything listed – just choose according to the time permitted.
A. Retell the Story so the students can memorize it.
If possible, tell the story again so the students can memorize it.
B. Craft
Materials Needed
1 piece of cardboard (from a cereal box, shoe box, or delivery box)
1 sheet of white paper
Aluminum foil (about a hand's size)
Markers or crayons (yellow, black, and any favorite colors)
Safety scissors
Glue stick or tape
Step-by-Step Instructions
Draw the star base: On your cardboard, draw a large 4-pointed star (a tall vertical point, a wide horizontal point) to represent the Bethlehem Star.
Cut out the star: Use your safety scissors to carefully cut out the cardboard star.
Wrap in foil: Wrap your cardboard star completely in aluminum foil, smoothing it down so it shines brightly.
Draw Jesus in the manger: On your piece of white paper, draw a simple baby shape wrapped in a blanket resting in a small brown manger.
Color baby Jesus: Color the baby, manger, and a yellow circle halo above His head.
Cut out Jesus: Cut around your drawing of baby Jesus.
Glue Jesus to the star: Glue your baby Jesus drawing right in the very center of your star.
Draw light rays: Cut out 3 or 4 short strips of white paper, color them yellow, and glue them to the back of the star points so they stick out like glowing light.
Write the name of Jesus: On the bottom point of the star, write: "JESUS" in big letters.
Write the verse: On the back or side of the star, write: "Micah 5:2".
