Engage

Have the kids look in a box that is empty. Close the box and slip in items. Open it again and remind the kids that God made the world.

Craft

Materials Needed

  • Red construction paper (or pre-cut heart shapes)

  • Scissors

  • Clear tape or glue

  • Markers or crayons

  • Optional: Stickers or glitter for decoration

    Instructions

    • Have the children gently tear the hearts into 3–4 pieces (not too small). Explain that this represents how sin causes our hearts to break. Then, have the children to carefully put their heart back together, piece by piece. As they do, explain that God’s love and forgiveness can heal our broken hearts.
