Curricula Introduction: Preparing the "Leadership Torch" of tomorrow by training Christian Children today.

Kids on mission: A free and interactive chronological framework for teaching biblical theology, encouraging memorization, and building character in primary-age children.

Existing Challenges

A publication from 2009 suggests that “Sunday School” is “detrimental” to Spiritual health.

And, truth be told, we are losing many of our next generation. In a Josh McDowell study among Christian teens, 63% didn’t believe Jesus to be the son of the one true God.

Ultimately, we must lead children to “taste and see that the LORD is good”. The journey can be exciting and joyful, it does not have to be boring, difficult, overbearing, or overly technical, but we must be serious about the Christian duty to train children in the way they should go.

"It is time for our children to be joyfully educated, not entertained."

An overview of the Three-Year Program

The Kids on Mission curriculum is designed to provide a yearly OT to NT journey for kids 5-12 years old.

The program emphasizes accurate story telling and Bible memorization, and believes in the historic biblical principle that children can and will learn if their leaders align to the biblical call to “train up a child”.

Each year, core events and heroes are reviewed, providing “anchors” for sharing stories from the OT and NT, chronologically. Each year, new stories from each grouping of Scripture are introduced, with different areas of Scripture gaining additional focus each year.

The Basics

Teacher

Each lesson follows a repetitive sequence to instill foundations for good behavior in church, respect for the Bible, and prayer. Teachers are provided a step-by-step guide for leading the class, from beginning to end; yet, it is flexible and adaptable according to the needs and desire of the local church.

Children

First time attendees are provided a short primer for them to memorize 6 basic verses. Upon completion the teacher gives them the official “Student Manual”, creating a sense of identity.

The Student Manuals (Year 1,2,3) help track growth and has 50 verses for the child to memorize (one per week), under the guidance of their parent to the parent-teacher partnership.
