A. Retell the Story so the students can memorize it.

If possible, tell the story again so the students can memorize it.

B. Craft

Craft Materials Needed
1 piece of construction paper (any bright color for the background)
1 piece of white or yellow paper (for the oil horn flap)
1 piece of red or pink paper (for the heart)
Safety scissors
Glue stick
Markers or crayons

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Place your colored piece of construction paper flat on the table horizontally. This will be your background.
Step 2: Take your piece of white or yellow paper and draw a large horn shape (like a curved bottle used to hold oil).
Step 3: Use your safety scissors to carefully cut out the horn shape.
Step 4: Take your piece of red or pink paper, draw a medium-sized heart shape, and cut it out.
Step 5: Use your glue stick to glue the red heart flat in the exact center of your background construction paper.
Step 6: Use a bright marker to write the word "GOD" in large, bold letters directly inside the red heart.
Step 7: Place the paper horn directly over the heart so the heart is hidden underneath.
Step 8: Put glue only on the top edge of the horn shape and press it down above the heart. This creates a flap that can lift up.
Step 9: On the outside of the horn flap, use a marker to write the phrase: "1 Sam. 16:7".
Step 10: Decorate the background with stars or flowers to show that lifting the horn reveals a beautiful heart that God loves!
