A. Retell the Story so the students can memorize it.
If possible, tell the story again so the students can memorize it.
B. Craft
Materials Needed
1 piece of yellow or gold construction paper (or any bright color)
Markers or crayons
Safety scissors
Glue stick or tape
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Place your yellow construction paper flat on the table horizontally (the wide way).
Step 2: Use your safety scissors to cut the construction paper lengthwise into two long, equal strips.
Step 3: Use tape or a glue stick to connect the two strips together at one short end to make one extra-long paper strip.
Step 4: Use a marker to draw a zigzag line along the top edge of the entire long strip to make the peaks of a crown.
Step 5: Use your safety scissors to carefully cut along the zigzag line to complete the crown shape.
Step 6: In the exact center of your crown strip, draw a large shepherd's staff (crook) inside a heart to show a king who cares for his people.
Step 7: Choose a bright marker to write the virtue phrase clearly on the front: "Lead by Caring".
Step 8: Neatly write the Bible verse reference on the side of the crown: "2 Sam. 5:2".
Step 9: Use your favorite crayons and markers to decorate the crown peaks with colorful circles to look like beautiful jewels or gems.
Step 10: Wrap the paper crown around your head to measure the size, tape the open ends securely together, and wear your servant leader crown!
